Once again, I'm blinded by blinds!  I have been doing so much redecorating lately, and my windows are sadly neglected through all of it.  Now that I've redone the kitchen with a new tile floor, sponge-painted backsplash, and fresh walls, I am ready to purchase some coverings for the windows.  I am thinking specifically of  woven shades, as the room suddenly has an appearance which is a cross between modern and hippie chic. 

Bamboo blinds can change the look of a room so drastically, I think they're a perfect fit for the hippie style that fills my house (no surprise there) and the modern look that my partner prefers.  I love the way the shades are pleated, so that they cover the window in one smooth sheet as opposed to letting little bits of light in the way mini-blinds do.

I am just loving my house lately.  I'm so glad we decided to keep it for awhile longer.  We have so many projects to work on, but I have a better attitude about them than I did a few months ago.  I am really enjoying my fresh kitchen and have big plans for my daughter's room this weekend.  It's neverending, but it's fun, too.

If you're looking to purchase a new ceiling fan, kitchen sink, or bath accessory, you should check out Farreys.com.  I found them today on my search for a new sink, and was very pleased with their selection. 

This Saturday, we're meeting our accountant in the morning and them going tile shopping.  Our kitchen floor is horrendous; we've needed new tile for ages now but we've been too cheap to put it in.  Of course, the prospect of new tile has me excited to replace the dinged up kitchen sink and the formica countertop, too!  My quest for a new (shiny, stainless steel) sink led me to Farreys.com today.  I found quite a few really beautiful sinks, too.  I think this one might actually inspire me to wash some dishes by hand instead of overworking my poor dishwasher.  Speaking of, I think I'm adding kitchen appliances to the list of things that must be replaced when we get new tile!

Today, I discovered Grande Portal.  This is the perfect site to search for great bargains on home furnishings, as well as a ton of other items.  I think I may actually be able to find a new bedspread and a few other things to complete the decorating I've been doing in my bedroom. 

Grande Portal also has a good selection of inexpensive As-Seen-On-TV items -- who doesn't get a kick out of trying those!?  I wonder if they have my pasta pot . . . it's the one that has a strainer built into the lid.  And we need one of these to hold our remote controls; we're always losing them!  They also have space bags and a few other items I would like to try out around the house. 

I am really impressed with the selection of housewares at GrandePortal.com.  I think we could all get a few good bargains there!
