Jessys Home Decorating & Interior Design Blog

Hi and welcome to my Blind 'n Style home fashions blog.  My name is Jessy, and I've had an interest in interior design and landscaping for as long as I can remember!  I love decorating my friends' and relatives' homes, as well as my own. I decided to start up this blog in order to keep a record of my projects, share tips and ideas, and post other interesting news and information related to the home decorating and interior design industry.  I welcome feedback from my readers, so please tell me what you'd like to see here!

In the meantime, Jessy's Blind Style .com will include my thoughts on:
  • How to Style Your Windows
  • How to Select the Right Blinds and Shades
  • Interior Design Advice
  • Window Blind and Shade Reviews
  • Guide to finding the perfect window blinds and roman shades
  • Shopping Online for Faux Wood Blinds and Roman Shades

Caution: Wet Paint

Yesterday I mentioned that I'm a sucker for color.  I wasn't kidding.  When I moved into my house, the walls were that dull shade of not-quite white, the carpets were off-white in some rooms and dust-bunny gray in others, and even the window shades were white.  I couldn't wait to throw some paint on the walls -- an easy and quick fix for a painfully drab house.  Now we've got all kinds of blues, greens, and yellows surrounding us, and I feel so much more at home!

My next project:  hang some art on the walls.  I don't care if it's the handiwork of Picasso or my three year old at this point.  I just want more color!

Make Room for Baby

After working on some decorating things for my mom and some other family members, I'm finally getting back to working on my own house.  My partner and I had a baby boy on February13th, and his room still hasn't been given the attention it deserves.  He has a really lovely blue and green tie-dyed comforter in his crib, with matching bumpers (tie-dyed because I'm nothing more than a hippy-mama at heart), but I'm still looking for a rug and some window treatments

I'm torn between a couple different types of blinds.  These hobbled Roman Shades really look like they'd do a fantastic job of darkening the room during the summer months when the sun is out long past bedtime.  But the basic, pleated shades I found come in so many wonderful colors.  I'm a sucker for cheerful colors.

I guess it's a good thing the baby is still sleeping in bed with me -- he's not going to care what his own room looks like for a long time!
