To make a long story short, I may find myself getting married within the next year or so.  If we move out of state, I'll lose the (rotten, awful, expensive but-at-least-I'm-covered-as-a-domestic-partner) health insurance we have through my boyfriend's employer.  When that happens, I'll likely need a ring on my finger before his new job will agree to cover me.  Bleh. 

Anyway, talking about moving has lead me to think about having a wedding at home before we go  We have a big, beautiful yard, and I don't want a fancy wedding in a reception hall, anyway.  I think it would be fun to fix up the garden, hire a justic of the peace and a wedding photographer, and tromp down the driveway into the arms of my waiting groom.

My boyfriend is a chronically obsessed DIY guy.  Automotive work, electrical, plumbing, landscaping; if it needs doing, he'll find a way.  We're lucky that he learns fast and has friends in almost every industry so he can get tips whenever needed!
